Can I use laundry detergent sheets to clean my hats in the dishwasher?

Using laundry sheets in a dishwasher is unsafe because they create excessive, non-stop suds that can cause the machine to leak, overflow, and damage its pumps. Laundry detergent is formulated differently, often leaving behind residue. Our cap-specific detergent sheets are specifically formulated to be used in the dishwasher for sports hats. These are not regular dishwashing sheets for cleaning dishes.

Can I wash my ballcap in the dishwasher machine?

Materials like cotton or synthetics are safe to put inside your dishwasher, but cardboard or wool could get damaged. If the tag says "hand wash only" don't put hat in the dishwasher. Hats with sentimental value, wash by hand using our CLNcap foam spot stain remover or place one sheet in sink with water. (Use lukewarm water in sink, dissolve full or half sheet into sink, shake sheet in water with hand, and see sheet dissolve into a soapy liquid) Brush hat to remove stains. Can all stains be removed?

Unfortunately, there is no guarantee a stain can be fully removed, it all depends on the type of stain and how long it has been there. Do rest assure that as far as sweat, oil and buildup is concern, this method will remove most and will leave your hat smelling fresh and odor free. Using the CLNcap sheets along with the washers heated water will most likely remove bacteria and germs as well.

Where should I place the hats?

Always place hats on top rack of dishwasher only. (if placed on bottom rack it may clog and flood the dishwasher, which will prevent it from finishing the cycle and stopping the wash. May cause damage if setting this way) Always turn off the heat dry setting. (It is recommended to use our dishwasher cap-cage to help hat retain its shape).

Can I wash my hats in the laundry washer?

This method is not recommended since laundry washers have a tumbling and agitation mechanism that may damage hats.
