Can I use laundry detergent sheets to clean my hats in the dishwasher?

Using laundry sheets in a dishwasher is unsafe because they create excessive, non-stop suds that can cause the machine to leak, overflow, and damage its pumps. Laundry detergent is formulated differently, often leaving behind residue. Our dishwashing sheets are specifically formulated to be used in the dishwasher for sports hats. These are not regular dishwashing sheets for cleaning dishes.

Can I wash my ballcap in the dishwashing machine?

Materials like cotton or synthetics are safe to put inside your dishwasher, but cardboard or wool could get damaged. If the tag says "hand wash only" don't put hat in the dishwsher. Hats with sentimental value, wash by hand using our CLNcap spot stain remover or place one sheet in sink. (Use luke warm water in sink, dissolve half or full sheet into sink, shake sheet in water with hand, and see sheet dissolve into a soapy liquid) Brush hat to remove stains.

Can all stains be removed?

Unfortunately, there is no guarantee a stain can be fully removed, It all depends on the type of stain and how long it has been there. Do rest assure that as far as bacteria and germ buildup is concern, this method will remove both and will leave your hat smelling fresh. (bacteria and germ buildup is a major problem). You can always use our CLNcap stain remover for hard to remove stains.

Where should I place the hats?

Always place hats on top rack of dishwasher only. (If placed on bottom rack it may clog and flood the dishwasher, which will prevent it from finishing the cylce and stopping the wash. (may cause damaged if setting this way) Always turn off the heat dry setting. (It is recommended to use our dishwasher cage to help hat retain its shape).

Can I wash my hats in the laundry washer?

This method is not recommended since laundry washers have a tumbling and agitation mechanism that may damage hats..
